In a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 case that has left the community reeling, a 35-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to charges of child sexual 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮 and neglect. The harrowing investigation began when his 11-year-old stepdaughter gave birth at home, a situation that has raised numerous questions about the welfare of the children involved.
According to reports, the girl, whose identity remains confidential, delivered a baby in August 2025 before seeking medical attention. Her mother, 34-year-old Cherie Walker, and stepfather, Dustin Walker, faced initial neglect charges for failing to provide necessary medical care. Alarmingly, it was revealed that the young girl had not seen a doctor for an entire year prior to the birth.
A DNA test subsequently confirmed that Dustin Walker was the biological father of the newborn, leading to additional charges of child sexual 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮. Cherie Walker was also implicated, facing charges for allegedly enabling the 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮. The situation deepened when it was reported that Michelle Justus, the child’s grandmother, was also charged in connection with the case. Both women claimed ignorance of the girl’s pregnancy, despite the fact that she had given birth to a full-term baby.
Further complicating the investigation, a Department of Health and Human Services employee discovered a drawing made by another child in the household, depicting the pregnant girl. This child reportedly stated that their grandmother had instructed them not to disclose the pregnancy to anyone.
The Walker household was home to six children, and a pediatrician who assessed their condition testified in court that all of them exhibited signs of severe physical neglect. They were found to be underweight and suffering from issues like lice and tooth decay. District Attorney Janet Hutson described the living conditions as deplorable, revealing that the home lacked basic necessities such as air conditioning and running water, and was filled with human waste.
Hutson expressed her emotional turmoil over the case, stating, “It’s very emotional to realize that a child at the age of 10 and 11 was having 𝒔𝒆𝒙 with their stepfather… to know that’s where she gave birth, where those children lived, without even the ability to get a drink of water in the middle of the night. It affected everyone in law enforcement.”
Dustin Walker entered a guilty plea in March and was sentenced on June 29. His punishment includes life imprisonment for child sexual 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮, along with additional sentences for multiple counts of child neglect, all to be served consecutively. He may be eligible for parole after serving 85% of his sentence, but if released, he will be required to register as a 𝒔𝒆𝒙 offender.
