A ππ½πΈπΈππΎππ homicide of rare and extreme brutality has been unmasked in San Angelo, Texas. Audrey Troncoso, 31, is currently in custody, accused of shooting, stabbing, and dismembering her live-in boyfriend before dumping a portion of his remains in a dumpster and attempting to encase the rest in concrete to erase all evidence. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Roland Matthew Shepard.
The investigation began unfolding on June 24, when San Angelo police received an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. The tipster claimed they were told that Audrey Troncoso had brutally murdered Shepard inside their apartment, chopped up his body, and disposed of the remains in a commercial dumpster. Recognizing the severity of the claim, investigators immediately secured the scene and prepared to search the designated container.
However, the dumpster’s contents had already been emptied into a trash truck that was en route to the local landfill. Police managed to execute an emergency traffic stop on the vehicle to conduct a massive search. Inside the truck, officers recovered a trash bag filled with clothes, a carpet soaked with fresh blood, and a human torso. The distinct tattoos found on the torso perfectly matched the physical description of Shepard.
A search warrant was immediately executed at the apartment Troncoso and Shepard shared. At the residence, police discovered additional human remains hidden inside plastic tubs filled with wet concrete, located in a vehicle parked in the home’s driveway.
Audrey Troncoso was arrested at the scene. During her police interview, the woman callously confessed to her horrific crimes. She admitted to shooting Shepard directly in the face, stabbing him multiple times, and utilizing a saw along with several knives to dismember his body. Troncoso then mixed concrete herself to bury the remaining body parts inside plastic totes to cover her tracks.
As the investigation widened on June 25, police arrested the suspectβs father, Mario Valdes Troncoso Jr., charging him with tampering with physical evidence. Authorities believe he was directly involved in helping his daughter hide and dispose of Shepard’s dismembered remains.
A police spokesperson stated to the media, βThis is one of the most violent homicides in recent memory that weβve investigated here.β Currently, law enforcement has not released a specific motive behind the brutal massacre. Audrey Troncoso is being held behind bars on a $2 million bond, while her father remains jailed on a $100,000 bond. The criminal investigation remains ongoing.
