Husband Brutally Kills Wife, Dumps Body in Trunk: Police

Texas police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife and hiding her body in the trunk of his car, a case that has shattered the image of a seemingly perfect family and left two young children without their mother.

Authorities in Plano, Texas, say Elelliana Beagani, a 30-year-old mother of two, was last seen alive on August 12 when she went to pick up her sons, ages two and five, from her estranged husband Jake Beagani’s apartment. She was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast at 8:30 a.

m. and told the friend the pickup would take only 10 to 15 minutes.

When Elelliana never showed up, the friend grew alarmed.

She checked Elelliana’s shared phone location and saw it was still at the apartment complex on Charles Place. The friend then contacted Elelliana’s mother, who also could not reach her daughter. That call set off a welfare check that would lead to a gruesome discovery.

Officers arrived at Jake Beagani’s apartment around 10:23 a. m. According to police, he answered the door and told them Elelliana had been there earlier but left.

He said they were going through a divorce and that she had come to pick up one of the children, who was not feeling well.

But something immediately struck the officers as off. They noticed a large wet spot on Jake Beagani’s shirt.

When asked about it, he said he had been cleaning. The officers asked to check the garage, and he consented. They saw his car inside but found nothing immediately suspicious.

They returned to their squad car to discuss the situation.

Back in the cruiser, a chilling message awaited them. Jake Beagani’s own mother had called law enforcement from out of state.

She told dispatch that her son had just called her and said, “I have something to tell you. She’s dead. We got in a fight and she’s dead.

” The note left for the officers read: “I believe someone has been harmed or killed. ”

Armed with that information, the officers re-entered the apartment and detained Jake Beagani. They told him he was being detained, not arrested.

When they asked why he would tell his mother that Elelliana was dead, he reportedly replied, “How would you know this kind of stuff? ”

By then, the wet spot on his shirt had dried, revealing a reddish-brown stain that police believed to be blood. The couple’s two young children were still inside the apartment.

Police say it is unclear what the children saw or heard that morning.

With probable cause established, officers searched the garage and opened the trunk of Jake Beagani’s car. Inside, they found Elelliana Beagani’s body.

According to the arrest affidavit, her clothing had blood on it, and she had “significant damage to her face and head” as well as various bruises consistent with a violent confrontation. Police also found a large amount of blood spatter inside the apartment.

Jake Beagani, 33, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮 of a corpse.

He is being held without bond at the Collin County Jail.

The case has stunned friends and family, who had seen only a picture-perfect family on social media. Just three days before the killing, Jake posted a montage video on Facebook showing the family celebrating one of their sons’ birthdays.

The video included images of Elelliana and the couple together. On July 22, he posted another montage of their years together.

But the reality was far darker.

The couple was reportedly estranged and going through a divorce. A friend told police there were “concerns regarding Jake Beagani being violent in the past. ” Elelliana had moved the family from Orlando, Florida, to Plano just months earlier for her husband’s job.

She had posted in a local neighborhood group seeking to connect with other families, saying she was excited to build a new community.

Court records show that Elelliana had posted a loving message to Jake on Facebook in November 2023, writing, “I love you, Jake Beagani. Thank you for these seven years together.

God has blessed our story, our love, and the beautiful family we’ve built, especially our children who make our lives better. Here’s to us, to his plans, and to many more years together. ”

Law enforcement experts have praised the officers’ handling of the welfare check.

“They did an excellent job,” said Sunonny Slaughter, a law enforcement instructor who analyzed the case for Law&Crime. “The level of detail in the affidavit is remarkable. You can feel the officer’s presence and his suspicion from the moment he saw the stain on the shirt.

Slaughter noted that the officers followed proper procedure, detaining Jake while they gathered more evidence. “They used the right language – ‘You’re being detained’ – which is not the same as an arrest. They had a welfare check that turned into a potential homicide, and they kept their cool while protecting the children still inside.

The fact that Jake Beagani’s mother called police is also being highlighted as a critical, heartbreaking decision. “She did the right thing,” Slaughter said. “She had to think about her grandchildren.

She knew her son well enough to believe his words were true. That call gave officers the lever they needed to go back in and find Elelliana. ”

Friends describe Elelliana as a devoted mother who worked hard as a realtor and made sacrifices for her family.

“She was a mom who truly cared for her children,” the report notes. “She moved across the country for her husband’s job, and now her husband is behind bars. ”

The case raises difficult questions about domestic violence, custody exchanges, and the warning signs that can be missed.

“We don’t know the full history of violence, but it was enough that the friend knew to call immediately when Elelliana didn’t show up,” Slaughter said. “She had some kind of plan in place, even if informal. That level of fear is real.

Police are still investigating the exact cause of death, though the visual evidence of trauma is clear. The two children have been removed from the home and placed with family or child protective services. Their future is now uncertain.

Jake Beagani’s mugshot shows a stark contrast to the smiling family photos on his social media. The man who once posted loving tributes to his wife now faces a life sentence if convicted. His defense attorney has not yet commented publicly.

This case is a grim reminder that domestic violence can escalate quickly, even when outward appearances suggest happiness. “How do you cut off that switch? ” Slaughter asked.

“He allegedly killed the mother of his children with the kids nearby. He was calm enough to lie to police. That is a level of control that is terrifying.

Elelliana Beagani’s life was cut short by the very person she once trusted. Her family and friends are left to mourn her loss and care for her children, who will grow up without a mother.

The case remains under investigation, and Jake Beagani is scheduled to appear in court in the coming weeks.

This story is still developing. Law&Crime will continue to follow the case as more details emerge, including body camera footage and the official cause of death.

For now, a community in Plano is grappling with the reality that a smiling father was allegedly hiding a monster inside.
