Walker, who was identified as a suspect, allegedly fled the scene but was later located at a nearby church.

An investigation revealed Walker and the alleged victim had a confrontation over tools, according to court documents cited by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, which noted the man believed Walker and his girlfriend were selling his tools and was at the residence to ask for receipts.

Walker is not facing any charges related to those accusations.

The ex shares a child with Walker’s longtime girlfriend, the outlet reported.

A witness at the scene told police she heard “slashing” at one point during that confrontation, according to investigators. She alleged to police that Walker continued to “pounce” on the stabbed individual even though he was bleeding, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press and KARE 11, citing a police account.

St. Paul police did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request to confirm this detail.

Walker allegedly told police the man began attacking him, prompting him to take out his knife, according to court documents cited by the outlets.

According to his social media and the church’s Facebook page, Walker is a senior pastor at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

The alleged victim was a former member of the church, KARE 11 reported, per charging documents.

PEOPLE has reached out to the church for comment.

Walker was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has entered pleas or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
